From the Breaking To The Breakthrough

Have you ever reached the point where you were just tired? Tired of fighting, tired of waiting, tired of losing again and again, maybe even tired of trying? Maybe you wish you could start over because life didn’t go the way you planned, and now you feel as though the decisions that brought you to where you are is what you deserve. Truth be told… No matter how hard we try, we cannot go back and change what happened. But we can decide to do better for ourselves by “choosing this day whom we will serve.” (see Joshua 24:15).

For things to be different, we have to decide who we are going to follow and stop trying to control the outcome. The breaking and the crushing happen when we are in a position of humility and fully surrender. We cannot give what we don’t have. We must be willing to be honest with ourselves first, acknowledging where we went wrong. Then repent and ask for forgiveness. But even repentance comes with a sacrifice, because it means you chose to follow Jesus. It means you decided who you will serve. It means the breaking and the crushing meant something to you in that season or in that trial of your life. Now comes the healing and the breakthrough. Now comes the refinement and the new oil.

Nothing in life ever comes easy. Nothing in life is always sunshine and rainbows. But everything in life has some kind of meaning and reason to where the worth is stored and found. There are some right now that are asking, “Why am I here? What is my purpose?” It is to do the will of God the Father in heaven. “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20).
