The inner critic whispers lies and consumes us with fear and anxiety. It tells us we are not good enough. It tells us we will never achieve those dreams or get to that goal. It will tell us that the person we were is the same today, that we will never change. But let me tell you something… “THE DEVIL IS A LIAR!” He is the accuser and is trying to scheme against your identity because he knows if he can’t destroy you, he will distract you. We cannot give the enemy a foothold or any kind of access points into our lives.
What doors are open that need to be shut?
What is in our homes that need to be removed?
I know that sometimes it’s easier to run and not deal with anything. Than to confront the struggle and release the burden. But why do we want to hold on to the burden or the heaviness? Aren’t you getting tired and worn out from trying to fight this on your own? The battle was never ours to carry, yet we strive to grab hold of the reins, hoping to have some kind of control. Why? What would happen if you just let go? Have you ever thought of that?
Think about what life could look like if we fully surrendered to the Lord.
Don’t you want to know what freedom looks like?
True freedom instead of something temporary?
God’s love is eternal and everlasting. His joy and his presence are like no other.
Faith says, “go,” fear says, “stop.” Who are you going to listen to? It’s important to recognize who and what is speaking. The inner critic in this scenario is fear. Fear will silence and cripple us if we allow it to have any kind of power or authority over us. Faith uplifts and strengthens us in the power of the holy spirit. Faith moves mountains and shifts the atmosphere.
“Even when I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff they comfort me.”
-Psalm 23:4
